Miami’s origin story, for everyone who calls Miami home
For more than a century the founding of Miami has been told as the story of one woman and a bouquet of orange blossoms. Orange Blossom 2.0 returns to the primary sources to tell the fuller story: the complicated chess game between Henry Flagler and two industrious women, Julia Tuttle and Mary Brickell.
Thanks to major support from The Green Family Foundation, the book was published in its first edition in three languages, because Miami’s origin story should be enjoyed, understood and accessible to all who call Miami home. It is now in its second printing.
The Foundation’s outreach to public schools in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach is supported by book and merchandise sales. Interested in copies for a classroom or group? Contact us.
